This First Aid course is ideal for groups wanting a basic First Aid course without the formality of a full First Aid at Work course. We can tailor some content to your needs.
This course is suitable for teachers of alternative therapies such as Yoga, Pilates and other similar activities where the Basic Life Support is needed but also some specific First Aid for your speciality.
It is suitable for workers that need a basic First Aid qualification as part of their specific qualification but do check that it meets your NGO minimum standards.
It is Not an (Emergency) First Aid at Work Course. If you need a First Aid in the Workplace qualification, look at our Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work courses.
All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to the same standards where possible as First Aid at Work topics. The course contents fully meets the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 where relevant.
Attendees with be issued with a Certificate, valid for 3 years. These will be emailed to the course Organiser for distribution after the event. The course content may vary and topics covered are printed on the Certificate.
Certification
All Certificates issued are in electronic (PDF) format. They will be sent to the person (or organisation) that organised the Booking in order for them to be distributed to the student(s).

Whilst we try and maintain a fixed cost for our courses, our prices may be subject to an additional fuel charge if your location is a distance away from our nearest trainer to you.
There is a £50 supplement per day if that day is a Sunday or Bank Holiday.
All prices exclude VAT at the current rate of 20%.
Syllabus
The syllabus is as follows:-
Basic Life Support (3 hours):
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Administer First Aid to a casualty who is unresponsive
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator
- Administer First Aid to a casualty that is choking
Alternative Therapy (1 hour):
- Bleeds
- Soft tissue injuries (strains & sprains)
- Dislocations and fractures
- Fainting
